Homogeneous luminescence immunoassay for total estrogens in urine.
We describe an homogeneous luminescence immunoassay for "total" estrogens in enzymically hydrolyzed urine from nonpregnant women. The antiserum, raised against estriol-16,17- dihemisuccinate conjugated to bovine serum albumin, specifically bound the C-19 steroids carrying the estrogen-characteristic phenolic group. 17 beta-Estradiol conjugated with aminobutylethyl isoluminol was used to monitor...
متن کاملA Modified Procedure for the Estimation of Total 17-hydroxycorticosteroids (porter-silber Chromogens) in Urine.
A modified procedure for the determination of urinary 17-hydroxycorticosteroids(dihydroxy-acetonyl-corticoids) is described. The use of ethyl ether in a single extraction step and the stabilization of the phenylhydrazine-sulfuric acid reagent with sodium chloride are the unique features of the method. Studies of chromogenicities of steroids, recovery, pH effect on extraction, and salt effect on...
متن کاملModified Sampling Strategies Using Correlation Coefficient for Estimating Population Mean
This paper proposes two sampling strategies based on the modified ratio estimator using the population mean of auxiliary variable and population correlation coefficient between the study variable and the auxiliary variable by Singh and Tailor (2003) for estimating the population mean (total) of the study variable in a finite population. A comparative study is made with usual sampling strategies...
متن کاملAutomated hydrolysis of total estrogens in urine from pregnant women.
This method for the hydrolysis of estrogens completes the automated analysis of estrogens in pregnancy urine described by Muir, Ua Conaill, and Ryan [Steroids 13, 719 (1969)]. Pregnancy urines can be processed from the sampling of urine to the recording of fluorescence intensity in 30 mm, at a rate of 20 samples per hour. The presence of glucose does not de crease the apparent hydrolysis products.
متن کاملA Modified Catheterization Procedure to Reduce Bladder Damage when Collecting Urine Samples from Holstein Cows
This study proposed a modified procedure, using a small balloon catheter (SB catheter, 45 ml), for reducing bladder damage in cows. Holstein cows and the following catheters were prepared: smaller balloon catheter (XSB catheter; 30 ml), SB catheter and standard balloon catheter (NB catheter; 70 ml, as the commonly used, standard size). In experiment 1, each cow was catheterized. The occurrence ...
